Abstract

The tension between tradition and modernity has long been a central theme in the dialogue between religion and the humanities. Tradition provides continuity, identity, and moral grounding, while modernity emphasizes rational inquiry, individual freedom, and cultural transformation. This article explores the intersections and conflicts of these paradigms, focusing on their impact on religious identity, cultural interpretation, and ethical values. Through a multidisciplinary lens, the study examines how philosophy, literature, and religious thought engage with modern secular frameworks, highlighting the potential for constructive dialogue. The paper argues that rather than existing in opposition, tradition and modernity can coexist through critical reflection and synthesis, enriching the humanities and fostering deeper intercultural understanding.
